We provide self-publishing services for independent writers. We will format your book for digital uploads, upload to online platforms, provide ISBNs, run a spellcheck and do a quick read-through to check for bloopers as well as help with covers and blurbs.
We provide three ISBNs for each book (one for each upload version we provide). ISBNs allow your book to be identified by libraries and booksellers.
All books we upload are deposited with the National Library of Australia through NED (National edeposit). This provides a catalogue record for your book and ensures the book is saved for posterity.
If you are a Western Australian author and decide to set-up a print-on-demand version of your book, we will fulfil your legal obligation and deposit a print copy of the book with the State Library of Western Australia (SLWA).
We format your book into three digital versions and upload your book to two digital bookselling platforms of your choice including Amazon. These platforms include print-on-demand options.
Full disclosure, Julie Morrigan, the proprietor of Jumble Books, is a pen pal of mine and I turned to her for help in self-publication when she went into the business, rather than turning to providers here in the U.S., because I wanted to help her. That turns out to have been an excellent decision.
Although new to the business, Julie has a broad background in many aspects of it, above all relevant computer tricks of the trade such as generating a table of contents, as well as in literature, editing, and self-publishing itself. That has made for an extraordinarily fast learning process by her with respect to those aspects of the business she was relatively unfamiliar with.
Above all, she has excellent taste, judgement and creative imagination. The picture on the cover of my book Growing Old, for example, was her find, and I've found her advice on how potential audiences will react to various features of the books, very sound. She made numerous other creative suggestions as to how to make my books appealing to potential readers, but it would make this note too long to include them here.
So grab the opportunity while she's still new to the business and in the middle price range, indeed in the lower price range by U.S. standards. This is a business that requires a rare set of skills and much more labor than meets the eye. You get what you pay for, if you're lucky. With Julie you get more
